I love the idea of running a '411 PCM on a Gen1 SBC! It's amazing how much better the '411 drives than the old PCMs on an identical engine. - With Gen III engines, which have a 24-tooth reluctor on the crankshaft, a “411” PCM is the standard for 2000 and later-year models. The caveat here is that through 2002, both cable and electronic throttle control was available, so the PCM has to be properly configured to match the throttle type.

Since every LS engine swap is a little different and there are lot of choices to be made, you can use this guide as a reference for ideas and part numbers as you move through the process. The 411 swap kit is for GM cars and trucks from 1996 to 2000. The newer PCM is faster and offers more programming options. This means more power right out of the box. All kits come with new Delphi connectors and hardware along with program of your choice. Its get rid of the Optispark and allows the engine management by a 411 PCM using an 02 Express Van calibration and Vortec dizzy (which is what the Express Van comes from the factory with). I've got a lead on a 96-97 LT1 cover and 4x crank wheel, LT1 crank sensor, and a 96-99 5.7L Vortec dizzy, all for under $130.
